Inventory Analyst

Location: Marietta, Georgia

A growing consumer-products company seeking an analytical and detail-oriented Inventory Analyst to support inventory planning, replenishment, fulfillment, and customer-service needs across a portfolio of domestic retail accounts.

This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who enjoys using data to solve operational problems, improve inventory visibility, and help ensure customers have the right products at the right time. The Inventory Analyst will work closely with Account Management, Operations, vendors, third-party logistics partners, and company leadership in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Position Overview

The Inventory Analyst will be responsible for monitoring and managing inventory stock levels for approximately 5–15 domestic customer programs. This person will support demand planning, replenishment, fulfillment activity, EDI coordination, inventory reconciliation, and reporting while proactively identifying potential stockouts, excess inventory, and other risks.

The ideal candidate has experience in inventory analysis, forecasting, replenishment, ERP systems, EDI transactions, and third-party warehouse coordination. Experience supporting imported consumer products and U.S./Canada distribution is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Account Management team to establish and maintain appropriate inventory levels by customer program.
  • Analyze demand, sales trends, forecast requirements, lead times, available inventory, and inventory-on-order to support replenishment decisions.
  • Manage inventory replenishment and fulfillment transactions within the company’s ERP system, including NetSuite.
  • Coordinate EDI transactions with customers and third-party warehouse partners to ensure timely, accurate transmission of orders and inventory-related information.
  • Maintain EDI customer setups and resolve order-transmission, data, fulfillment, and integration issues promptly.
  • Reconcile inventory balances at third-party warehouse locations against internal ERP-system records; investigate discrepancies and coordinate resolution.
  • Work with vendors, freight providers, and internal stakeholders to support the importation of products into the United States and Canada.
  • Communicate inventory status, potential stockouts, excess inventory, aging inventory, and customer-specific supply risks to management on a proactive basis.
  • Identify slow-moving, obsolete, or excess inventory and recommend actions such as markdowns, liquidation, customer reallocation, or adjusted replenishment plans.
  • Create, maintain, and improve reports related to inventory availability, inventory aging, sales trends, forecasts, customer demand, replenishment requirements, and fulfillment performance.
  • Collaborate across Account Management, Operations, Finance, vendors, and 3PL partners to improve inventory accuracy, customer service, and operational efficiency.
  • Support ongoing improvements to inventory processes, ERP data quality, reporting, EDI workflows, and warehouse communication.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Operations, Finance, or another analytical/quantitative discipline; comparable relevant experience may also be considered.
  • Experience in consumer products, toys, retail, food and beverage, durable goods, or another high-volume product environment.
  • Experience in inventory planning, inventory control, replenishment, demand forecasting, supply planning, customer operations, or a related supply-chain role.
  • Experience with ERP systems; NetSuite experience is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with EDI transactions, EDI customer setup, order-management processes, and issue resolution.
  • Experience working with third-party logistics providers, warehouses, distributors, or fulfillment partners.
  • Strong Excel skills and proficiency using data to identify trends, reconcile discrepancies, and make recommendations.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, follow-through, and the ability to manage multiple customer programs and priorities.
